Phoenix Athletes

Palace Koia (C2) participated in the U/9 Girls Cockburn Little Athletics Championships and was awarded with the following medals:

Gold medal

Discus

Gold medal

60 Hurdles (with a Personal Best ribbon)

Gold medal

Shot Put

Silver medal

70m Sprint (with a Personal Best ribbon)

Silver medal

100m Sprint (with a Personal Best ribbon)

Bronze medal

Long Jump (with a Personal Best ribbon)

 

 

Palace joined Athletics as an off season sport to netball to help keep her fit.  She has done extremely well making the State Relay team.  Placing 2nd in the U/9 girls 4 x 200m and 3rd in the 4 x 100m.  One of Palace’s goals was to beat her personal best time running times, jumps and throws and she has achieved that each week. Next season’s goal is to bring home the Champion Girls Trophy.

 

Kingdom Koia (B2) participated in the U/7 Boys Cockburn Little Athletics Championships. He received a trophy for being the Runner Up U/7 Boys Champion and was also awarded with the following medals:

Gold medal

Shot Put

Gold medal

Discus (with a Personal Best ribbon)

Silver medal

Long Jump

Silver medal

100m Sprint

Silver medal

60m Hurdles (with a Personal Best ribbon)

Bronze medal

Kingdom joined Little Athletics as an off season sport to rugby to help him keep fit.  He has done extremely well and achieved a lot in his season. Like his sister Palace, Kingdom’s goal was to beat his personal bests each week and get faster and stronger. He has definitely achieved that by receiving Runner Up Champion Boy. His goal for next season is to train hard and bring the Champion Boy trophy home.

Palace and Kingdom also attended their club Athletics windup on the weekend of the 10/11 March. Both children received trophies for their efforts this season.  Palace received a trophy for the U/9 Girls Champion and Kingdom for the U/7 Boys Champion.  We would like to congratulate them and we are sure they are looking forward to next season.
